Eagles announce some roster moves after Cowboys game

[ad_1]

The Philadelphia Eagles officially announced some trades Tuesday afternoon. An overview:

  • OG Isaac Seumalo and S K’Von Wallace were placed on the injured list.
  • T / G Jack Driscoll and CB Josiah Scott, both of whom are in IR, have started their 21-day training period.
  • TE Richard Rodgers has been released from the practice squad.

Let’s sort it out, player by player.

ISAAC SEUMALO

Seumalo is out for the season with an injury at Lisfranc, according to the team. Difficult for the Eagles to lose their left guard at the start. Especially after losing their starting right guard and starting left tackle, although the latter may be back sooner rather than later.

Speaking at his post-match press conference, Jason Kelce became moved by Seumalo’s injury. The veterans center has often argued that Seumalo is an underrated member of the squad

Nate Herbig is currently the best candidate to replace Seumalo in the starting lineup. He replaced Seumalo on Monday night and has experience under his belt after making 12 starts in 2020.

K’VON WALLACE

Wallace’s shoulder injury will not require surgery. He is expected to miss three to six games. His absence leaves the Eagles even thinner safe. Philly could really afford to get Rodney McLeod back this week. Even if he returns, they could afford to add more depth to the rear. Promoting Elijah Riley to the roster is a potential option.

JACK DRISCOLL

Driscoll started the season in IR after undergoing a chest strain. It is now eligible to be activated since three weeks have passed. The Eagles can assess Driscoll in practice this week and see if he’s ready to play Sunday’s game. He could be the best substitute on the right behind Landon Dickerson. Also potentially the best save in the right tackle behind Lane Johnson.

JOSIAH SCOTT

Scott started the season on IR after sustaining a hamstring injury in the Eagles preseason final. Scott’s return gives the Eagles more depth at the nickel cornerback. He can also help on special teams.

RICHARD RODGERS

The Eagles brought back Dick Rod after Zach Ertz entered the reserve / COVID-19 list early last week. With Ertz back on the roster, they no longer needed Rodgers as an emergency elevation option. His departure frees up a place in the training team.
