Eagles elevate Le’Raven Clark to active roster ahead of Panthers game

The Eagles elevated offensive tackle Le’Raven Clark of the training team to the active roster on Sunday as a COVID-19 replacement for Sua Opeta.

This is not entirely surprising given the team’s need to ensure some depth on a steadily declining offensive line. Head coach Nick Sirianni confirmed on Friday that Lane Johnson will miss Sunday’s game against the Panthers as he continues to deal with a “personal matter,” but Philadelphia will thankfully have Jordan Mailata back in the mix.

Sirianni wouldn’t say if Mailata will return to left tackle, or if Andre Dillard will stay left and Mailata will move to right – citing a competitive advantage for this to be unknown until the time of the game. The Eagles also have Landon Dickerson, Jack Driscoll and Nate Herbig to move around the line a bit and then everything will be anchored by veteran center Jason Kelce.

Clark was one of the Colts who followed Sirianni to Philadelphia, and after initially being taken off the 53-man roster, he stuck around for a spot on the practice squad. In his first four seasons in the NFL, Clark played 47 games and started in 15. He might not have the most complete resume, but he at least has the experience to step in should the Eagles have to. knock someone else down on Sunday.
