In 2018, Nick Sirianni was self-screening his large receivers when he noticed Zach Pascal was a strong blocker on special teams. Needing a perimeter blocker in the running game, Sirianni, the offensive coordinator for the Indianapolis Colts, has carved out a role for the former undrafted free agent in the receiving corps. Eventually, after showing off his blocking abilities on film, Sirianni expanded on Pascal’s role to take advantage of his tape work. The offensive coordinator designed fake blocks that would turn into screen passes for Pascal. Once those games worked, Pascal became a regular part of the offense. Since Sirianni grabbed Pascal’s strength in 2018, the wide receiver has started 31 games and tallied 112 receptions for 1,504 yards and 12 touchdowns. “It’s going to put you in a position to be successful,” Pascal told NJ Advance Media on Monday. “Let’s say this guy is fast, (he) will put him on the fast lane.” This guy has a good break at the top (of the road), (he’s gonna) give him a road curl. He uses the great strength of the guys.

Like, what exactly is Wentz looking for here? Does he want the Eagles to fully commit to him as a starter and trade Hurts? He shouldn’t be able to make those kinds of demands, especially after the terrible season he’s been through. The reports we’ve heard of Wentz – who turned down the chance to put his own words there – since being benched do NOT portray a player who has been humiliated by his demotion. On the contrary, all indications seem to indicate that he doesn’t think he’s part of the problem, which is downright pathetic. It shouldn’t take convincing and harsh concessions to convince Wentz to stay in Philadelphia. Maybe the Eagles aren’t really committed to Wentz and they had better move on. Their actions and words so far indicate otherwise.

Maybe Steichen will fit. But there is little evidence to suggest the Eagles have done anything to cast a wide net and find the best candidate.
