TThe initial design of the new $ 20 bill featuring Harriet Tubman was revealed.

The image, produced by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, represents the civil rights icon dressed in a dark coat and a white scarf. The preliminary design was completed in 2016, but last month Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin announced that the planned release of the 2020 bill would be postponed until 2028.

Mnuchin said the delay was due to security issues.

"The main reason we considered revising the design of the currency is related to counterfeit problems," Mnuchin said. "On this basis, the $ 20 bill will not be released until 2028. The $ 10 and $ 50 will appear in advance with new features."

Trump criticized the decision to exchange the current picture of former President Andrew Jackson in favor of Tubman. In 2016, he praised Jackson's presidency, saying he would prefer Tubman for $ 2.

"Andrew Jackson has a great story, and I think it's very hard to remove somebody from the bill. Andrew Jackson has had a tremendous success story for the country, "said Trump.

"I think Harriet Tubman is fantastic. I'd like to leave Andrew Jackson and see if we can possibly find another denomination, maybe we would make the $ 2 bill or we would make another bill, "he added.

In 2016, US Treasury Secretary Jack Lew announced that Jackson's resemblance would be canceled in favor of Tubman for a planned launch in 2020.
