There are only a few hours left before the first screenings of Snakes Eyes: GI Joe Origins, we finally get the first critical reactions for the spin-off of the GI Joe franchise. Snake-eyes hits theaters on July 23.
Directed by Robert schwentke (Red, RIPD) and written by Evan Spilotopoulos (The Huntsman: Winter’s War, Beauty and the Beast), Snake Eyes: GI Joe Origins Originally slated for release in March 2020 before being delayed multiple times following the COVID-19 pandemic. Movie stars Henri golding (Crazy Rich Asians, A Simple Favor) in the lead role, recounting the iconic character’s origins as he was welcome to an ancient Japanese clan and becoming a skilled warrior before meeting him for the first time on GI Joe: The Rise of the Cobra.
The film also stars Andrew Koji (warrior) like Storm Shadow, rsula Corberó (Money theft) like the baroness, Samara weaving (Ready or Not) like Scarlett, Haruka Abe (Cruel) like Akiko, Tahehiro Hira (As Lawyer) like Kenta, and Iko Uwais (Lowering) as a Hard Master. The film is produced by Stephen Davis, Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Josh Feldman, and Brian Goldner.

Critics agree the film is nonstop action and specifically highlights Golding and Koji’s performances, but a frequent note was that much of the action struggles to land with shaky camera cuts that don’t make no service to the fight sequences and the stunt choreography:
