A start-up called Anna – a play on the word “analytics” – has started rolling out high-tech, self-serve cannabis kiosks at some dispensaries across the state.
The machines can hold over 2000 products including cannabis flowers, edibles, infused drinks, balms and vaping oils. The machines are ideal for the buyer who knows what he wants and doesn’t want to wait in potentially long queues, the company says.
Sales of medical and recreational cannabis in Colorado set record highs in May and June, according to state revenue data. In the first half of 2020, Colorado cannabis dispensaries sold $ 978 million worth of marijuana flowers, edibles, and concentrates, up nearly 20% from a year ago.
While vending machines and interactive vending machines aren’t particularly new to other industries, they are seen as an innovative development for the heavily regulated cannabis industry.
