EA's FireMonkeys studio working on "Real Racing 4" was hit by massive layoffs – TouchArcade

More than 6 years ago, Firemint and IronMonkey, two EA studios, merged to form Firemonkeys in Australia. At the time, Firemint was responsible for the incredible Real Racing and IronMonkey was known for Mass infiltrator ($ 4.99) and Dead space ($ 4.99). The bad news for today's studio has been reported by Kotaku with big layoffs. Firemonkeys has focused exclusively on the development of mobile games and is one of Australia's leading developers.

The Firemonkeys are probably the best known today for Real Racing 3 and Need speed: no limit. The layoffs that took place would have affected 40 to 50 people in the strong company, with 200 employees. Kotaku also reported after talking to an employee who remained anonymous that the current atmosphere in the studio did not look good, the rest of the staff working in the event that the full studio would be closed. An EA representative told Kotaku that the studio would continue to work and continue to work on some of EA's most popular mobile games. Firemonkeys were growing Real Racing 4 and that would have been canceled earlier this week, the Kotaku report continues. This news is really bad. Let's hope people affected by these layoffs can find something quickly. Good luck to everyone at the studio.
