Square Enix offered a preview of the gameplay of Echoes of Mana, the previously announced mobile spin-off of Or series. The latest trailer premiered at Square Enix’s Tokyo Game Show 2021 broadcast event.

Check out the trailer below.

The trailer stated that “a new journey is about to begin”. To “make the sacred sword lost, a boy and a girl must travel through the patchwork of worlds.” This is followed by Mana Echoes gameplay, which shows that the male protagonist emerges from a portal. Combat is also shown, and it looks like players will be in control of their party as they move through the stages, in a way that’s not unlike a side-scrolling brawler. With them are various characters from the Or series, including Hawkeye, Rieze, Duran, Angela, Kevin and Charlotte from Trials of Mana. Large bosses also appear and deploy their attacks by delimiting the danger zones in the area. Mana Echoes will be free and supported by microtransactions, but the nature of the game’s monetization was not detailed in the trailer.

Mana Echoes is for iOS and Android devices, and it’s slated for a release window in Spring 2022. Check out Siliconera’s coverage of the recent modern remake of Trials of Mana.
