From August 15 to 25, three young Ecuadorians with cancer will undertake a trip to Chile to receive a ski workshop. There, the project 'Montaña de Alegría & # 39; you will receive to offer you this great experience.
All three had leg amputations because of this severe disease. This makes it an example for many people, even those who are in the same conditions.
Three Warriors
Andres Loja, 26, says that he hopes this experience will not only be rewarding for him, but for all his fellow warriors who can draw inspiration from his story. . "With that, I want to send a message so that whatever you do, do it with your heart, no matter what condition you are going through."
Pbadionate about sport since his childhood, he hopes to learn a new discipline that will reinforce this pbadion. "I will not let cancer be an obstacle to achieving this dream."
Miriam Merino, 20, is another young woman who will embark on this journey. She comments on the great emotion this opportunity causes, since she has never had the chance to leave the country.
In addition, Miriam is waiting to begin her studies in psychology, which, she says, is one of her biggest dreams.
"We must leave the message that people in conditions such as the one in which we find ourselves can not give up.Nothing is an impediment if you always keep up your heart and persecute your dreams," points out with a lot of feeling.
She was diagnosed with a myxoid liposarcoma, which led to surgery three months ago to amputate her right leg. Despite this, she remains firm and happy for this great opportunity.
Gisella Tuquerez is a 24-year-old mother who will also benefit from this project. "I have never traveled on a plane, this experience has me excited and anxious," she says with a lot of emotion
. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, which resulted in amputation of her leg.
Despite the difficult circumstances, she keeps her smile and her expectations, because, as she explains, she gets the strength of her clbadmates and her son's 5 years old.
"You can go ahead with an amputated leg, with an arm, or with any other complication. Positivism, strength and the will to live are the key to overcome, "explains Gisella. That's the message that she sends for both her compatriots, as she calls them, and for those who see difficulties in their future.
These three fighters are the ones who will make the trip to Chile to receive a ski workshop, dictated by professionals.
This is the fifth year in a row that Ecuador has been participating in this project thanks to the support of the Jóvenes Contra el Cáncer Foundation.
