The Dr. Hun Lye (Könchok Yedor) grew up in a Buddhist house in Penang, Malaysia. From an early age, he studied and practiced Buddhism with teachers of different traditions. Hun Lye met his first teacher Drikung Kagyu while he was studying at the university in the United States. He earned his PhD at Religious Studies at the University of Virginia Specializing in Buddhism

After ten years teaching at American universities, Dr. Lye left the Academy to dedicate all his energy in Dharma work. ] In 2013, he was named Dorje Lopön (in Spanish means "adamantine preceptor") of the Drikung Kagyu lineage by His Holiness Drikung Kyabgön Chetsang Rinpoche and was officially crowned by the future Regent of the lineage in a Drikung Kagyu center located in his city native of Penang, Malaysia

Since then, Dorje Lopon Hun Lye has been dedicated to serving as a special badistant of His Holiness Drikung Kyabgön Chetsang Rinpoche on various projects in Asia and America. North and South, as well as fungi as a resident teacher at the Urban Dharma Center in Asheville, North Carolina.
