The activity of the Ecuadorian volcano Reventador, located about 90 kilometers from Quito, remained high in the last hours with incandescence in its crater and carrying blocks under the summit , reported the National Geophysical Institute

The volcano has recorded since May last an intense activity characterized by occasional eruptions and emissions of gas and ash, which until now have not caused major damage.

"Strong eruptive activity is maintained.Over night we observed glow in the crater and carrying blocks up to 1,000 meters under the summit" says a bulletin of the Institute mentioned above published in the last hours.

The Reventador is a volcano "Composite stratum" located on a spur of the eastern branch of the Andean mountain range that is lost with the beginning of the Amazon basin.

From 3560 meters high, began its current eruptive process in 2002 consisting of the generation of explosions, emissions of gas and ash, lava flows and lahars. EFE
