According to the authorities cited, Galarza is "the perpetrator criminally responsible for the crime of homicide qualified as a person with whom she had a relationship".

The judges determined that the shooting had been done voluntarily. "The defense's badumption that the shootings occurred unintentionally was destroyed," said the judges, who also ruled out mitigating gender-based violence, which could have reduced the punishment inflicted on Nahir.
