The CONMEBOL has already made a decision regarding the sanctions for what happened during the Copa Libertadores final that River Plate and Boca Juniors had to play at the Monumental Stadium in Buenos Aires last weekend. This is why the definition was to be moved to Santiago Bernabéu stadium in Madrid.
CONMEBOL has indicated on its official website that the Red Band Club must comply with the following penalties:
1º. IMPOSES ATLETICO RIVER CLUB a penalty of playing their next two (2) home games in official competitions organized by CONMEBOL in camera. This sanction will come into effect from 2019.
2º. IMPOSES ON THE ATLETICO CLUB a fine of 400,000 USD (four hundred thousand US dollars). The amount of this fine will be automatically debited from the amount to be received by CLUB ATLÉTICO RIVER PLATE CONMEBOL in the concept of television rights or sponsorship.
