On May 26, Real Madrid won the Champions League, but that meant its players had only two weeks to prepare for the World Cup. After half of the knockout stages, only one third of Real Madrid's players are still competing in Russia-2018: are the Champions pbading the law?

With the numbers in hand, we can reach this conclusion: of the four clubs more players have contributed to the different teams, Real Madrid is by far the least represented at this stage of the World Cup.

After the elimination of Spain in the penalties against Russia on Monday in Moscow, the 15 players of Real Madrid who started the World Cup, only five of them remain on the list: Brazilians Casemiro and Marcelo, winners on Monday in the imposing 2-0 in Mexico, the French Raphael Varane and Croatians Luka Modric and Mateo Kovacic. These last two have also erased the elimination, although eventually the Balkans qualified for the fourth in the penalties.

On the other hand, the Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo, Costa Rica Keylor Navas, the German Toni Kroos, the Moroccan Achraf Hakimi and the members of Sergio Ramos, Dani Carvajal, Nacho Fernandez, Lucas Vázquez, Marco Asensio and Isco are already on vacation.
