Erik Finman, 19, the youngest bitcoin billionaire in the world, recently announced the creation of a functional version of Dr. Octopus' four-arm prosthesis. (Spiderman's enemy) for a young Marvel fan, who suffers from symptoms of hypermobility.

Aristou Meehan, whose father is Finman's friend, suffers from hypermobility syndrome and has always believed that having his own Dr. Octopus costume would make things happen. a lot easier for him. So, Finman set up a "team of engineers" and set out to make this suit a reality.

In 3D
Finman and his team decided to rely on 3D printing to create their custom printer. The design and manufacturing process took six months, which is a relatively short period. Even so, the result was pretty impressive.

True to his inspiration, the unusual prosthesis consisted of four flexible tentacles controlled by back-mounted microcontrollers powered by a total of eight servomotors. The motors themselves are powered by a relatively small four-cell lithium battery, and make the total weight of the suit (5.6 kilos) manageable, even for 10-year-old Aristou.

For now, Dr. Aristou 's impressive Octopus costume is only a prototype capable of lifting light objects. But we expect the future to load something as heavy as a car.
