Does these similarities demonstrate the influence of Africa on Ecuadorian music?
Yes. The African influence is in all humanity. I've traveled all over the world and in Japan, for example, I could play an instrument almost immediately and I got in touch with the musicians because I'm convinced we all have the same human origin, the same root traveled all over the world.

What is the link between jazz and blues with African music?
At the time of slavery and colonization, Africans were taken to other parts of the world and, to remember their roots, they sang. That's where the blues and jazz come from. The melody that is used in the blues comes mainly from northern Mali.

There is a movie of an American blues musician. who travels to Mali and finds all the similarities that exist ancestral rhythms and the origin of the blues.
The people who played blues and jazz were African. They all came from Africa.

As for the messages of African music, what can you tell us?
In Africa there is trans music, considered medicinal in Mali, but there are also other rhythms that are played out in weddings, births, say that they are different according to the festivities that take place (CM)
