At 12:00 yesterday, the factory ECU-911 was alerted to the disappearance of a woman of Swiss nationality, who had gone out with a group of people to walk in the lagoon from Quilotoa but he did not return.

From the emergency system, the search was coordinated with the Pujilí National Police and Fire Department, who reportedly found the woman, about 70 years old, in a ravine near of the lagoon. The event would have taken place outside the protected area.

For the extraction of the body, firefighters used vertical rescue equipment (ropes, carabiners, a rescue basket and harnesses). Due to the rugged terrain, recovery of the corpse lasted about an hour with 15 minutes, according to a report from the ECU-911.

The body was transferred to the mortuary of the general cemetery of Latacunga, where it remains up to the corresponding legal procedure and the notice to the embbady for the repatriation of the deceased. Adriana T., who was identified at the time of the legal procedure.
