Antoine Griezmann again demonstrated his appreciation for Uruguay after leaving the world champion. At the press conference, Uruguayan journalist Javier De León asked to speak and in French (no questions were accepted in Spanish, only in French, Croatian, Russian and English), he said to the French striker he accepted a Uruguayan flag
"Uruguay nomá, loco!" The French shouted as soon as they gave him the flag and while he was putting it around his neck. The striker of Atletico, teammate of Diego Godín and José María Giménez, had to present himself at the press conference for being chosen best player of the final.
De Leon had already announced to Ovación that if Griezmann went to the press conference and he got a pbad to enter he would offer the flag.
When he put the flag on his shoulders, Griezmann told De Leon: "And the question?" As the Uruguayan reporter told him that with the flag it was enough and that he was not going to ask any questions, the Frenchman replied: "What a phenomenon!"
