According to a report from TMZ.com, a source close to the singer who died this week, Eddie Money, claims that he would have died as a result of an operation as a result of a heart valve operation performed before the summer.
TMZ reported that the hit-maker of the 1970s and 1980s, perhaps the most famous for "Two Tickets To Paradise", as well as "Baby Hold On", died from complications of its previous procedures. Eddie died last night in Los Angeles.
His family confirmed the sad news in an article posted on social networks, claiming that Eddie had "died peacefully early this morning." As the fans of the iconic singer know, he made the revelation during the second season of his reality show Real Money.
At the time of his diagnosis, sources said his medical situation was not good, especially because the cancer had spread to other parts of his body. Earlier this year, in May, Eddie was reported to have undergone a minor heart valve procedure and also contracted pneumonia in July.
Edward Joseph Mahoney, from Brooklyn, Brooklyn, comes from a family that has been working for a long time with the New York Police Department. Eddie was also part of the force for about two years, before leaving the city in 1968 for California to work on his musical career.
The singer "Two Tickets to Paradise" had worked in local Berkeley clubs until it was signed by Columbia Records in 1976. When Eddie signed for a label, he almost immediately met with success with a double platinum album, including iconic hit, "Two tickets to paradise".
He also made appearances in other hits like King Of Queens in 2002. Eddie left behind his wife, Laurie, and his five children, Desmond, Julian, Joseph, Jessica and Zachary. Eddie was 70 years old.
