Egypt is one of the top 10 architectural pavilions of the Venice Biennale

The Egyptian pavilion was selected in Venice among the top 10 pavilions represented at the 16th session of Architecture 2018 , according to the first indicators and statistics published in Venice on Monday morning, designed by Wen These Architecture Alqomitir Islam Almstoly and architect Abu Zeid banned entitled "Bequia".

The Ministry of Culture organized last December a committee of high-level professors of architecture under the chairmanship of Professor Tawfiq Abdel-Jawad, with the participation of the Coordinating Authority of Civilizations under the presidency of Mohamed Abousaada and the Association of Architects. The Minister of Culture, Dr. Inas Abdalayem, said that work in the Egyptian pavilion continued for five months until it was fully restored under the supervision and follow-up of Dr. Jehan Zaki. , president of the Egyptian Academy in Rome. The number of pavilions represented at the Biennale of Architecture for this session reached 80 countries, noting that Egypt is the only country to own a pavilion at the heart of the Biennial headquarters, known as Gardini. , next to Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia.

The Minister of Culture expressed his happiness with the release of the architectural project of this session in this wonderful and orderly form. Stressing the importance of the Egyptian presence in various fields of art at the international level, and the need to maximize the role of soft power, especially in light of the repercussions the world is experiencing lately. The Egyptian Pavilion has witnessed several important personalities, including the Egyptian Consul of Milan, Ehab Abousrera, the architect Francesco Bandarin, Deputy Director General of UNESCO, and a number of architectural critics , specialists and professors of international universities.
