The Turkish Coast Guard said Wednesday that 19 people died after a boat carrying 150 migrants sank off the northern coast of Cyprus, while rescuers were looking for 25 others.

Turkish Coast Guard Ships and Helicopters Commercial vessels sailing in the area helped save 103 migrants after the boat sank about 30 kilometers off the coast of northern Cyprus.

The Coast Guard added that one of the survivors was in critical condition.

The statement stated that a merchant ship flying the flag of Panama had spotted a boat about 25 nautical miles from the Antalya territory in southern Turkey and informed the Coast Guard yesterday Wednesday morning.
