At least 74 people were killed in forest fires in the Attica region of the Greek capital of Athens, the worst fires in Greece in 10 years.
The government declared the state of emergency in the region and a number of European countries responded to a distress call from Greece.
The Red Cross claims that 26 bodies were found at Villa Square in the coastal village of Matte, located in the center of the fire zone.
Rescuers, who were involved in mbadive rescue operations, used boats and helicopters to evacuate people from the shore.
Authorities say that a search and rescue operation is underway for 10 tourists who fled a fire in a boat.
Hundreds of firefighters fight the fire and authorities seek international help.
Prime Minister Alexis Tsebras said: "We will do everything in our power to control the fire."
