Ahli captain Hossam Ashour confirmed that his team had enough experience to qualify for the quarter-finals of the African Champions League and pbad the group stage.
At the press conference before the match, Ashour said: "Ahli has enough experience to take this step, we managed a similar position in 2013 and finally managed to qualify."
Al Ahly experienced a similar situation in the African Champions League in 2013, where he faced Zamalek in the first round for each team, then lost in the second with three to Orlando to score one point over two matches, but his Is qualified and has won the title afterwards. Al Ahly finished last in Group A with a tie with Esperance and a defeat of Kampala City, to distance Esperance from three points.
Ashour added, "The international players have exceeded the frustration they have experienced after the World Cup, and are ready to win anyway for the Ahli club."
Al Ahly will play his third CAF Champions League game against the Borg El Arab Stadium township on Tuesday night, with a small public participation.
