More than 50% of smartphones are not password protected

A new study from Kaspersky Labs found that more than 50% of smartphone users do not use pbadwords or anti-theft tools, leaving their computers and their important data at their disposal.

According to Gadgetsnow of India, many people today use their mobile devices to access the internet and conduct various activities, such as online banking, email and social networking activities, that involve a huge amount of sensitive data. According to Kaspersky Lab, less than 48% of users protect their mobile devices and only 14% encrypt their files and folders to prevent unauthorized access.

In addition, the survey found that less than half (41%) of people back up their data and only 22% use anti-theft features on their mobile devices. Data from personal accounts, including photos, letters and even financial details, may become available for someone else.
