Eiji Aonuma talks about the possibility of making more Legend of Zelda spin-offs

Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma was recently asked on IGN if Nintendo is looking to generate even more Legend of Zelda spin-offs between the series’ main releases.

Aonuma said it was really an ‘idea first’ approach and explained how a bunch of circumstances have to line up before a project like this is even considered.

“We’re always looking for creative projects of value, but these only happen when several different conditions line up. So I think it’s hard for us to have conscious control over the frequency. “

In the case of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, Aonuma believes the circumstances might “line up like this” again, but doesn’t expect it to become a series as such – reinforcing the fact that any decision is based on creative merits.

“We would make this decision based on its creative merits, just as we did this time.”

How would you like to see some more Zelda spin-offs, or maybe Hyrule Warriors turned into a real series? Leave a comment below.
