Eli Manning and Brett Favre have had more memorable encounters than the only 2007 NFC Championship game.

When Manning was 17, he snuck into a Mississippi bar to have a beer and play pool with Favre, he revealed during the casting of ESPN2’s Manning “Monday Night Football”.

“I jumped over a fence and snuck into a bar, saw you shoot pool, introduced myself to you and you asked me if I wanted to shoot pool and hang out,” Manning told Favre during the alternate broadcast of the Packers 35-17. defeat the Lions.

However, Manning couldn’t stay longer to hang out with Favre because the friend he was with refused to sneak into the bar with him – so he had to leave early.

“My boyfriend didn’t jump over the wall with me he was too scared so I went out and I was like ‘Brett Favre is here we’re about to have a beer and play pool with Brett Favre . You have to jump! ‘ and he wouldn’t, ”Manning said. “So I jumped over the fence and left, and I still give it hell every day we could have had the best night of our lives. But you never leave your winger. I watched. lots of Top Guns, and you never leave your winger, so I had to leave.

But even though Manning was the one who went out of his way to break the law to see Favre in the flesh, Favre seemed to identify more with the ethics of Manning’s friend who refused to sneak in.

“I give him credit for being an honest person and not sneaking into a minor bar,” Favre told Manning. “How dare you do something like this?” “

Since Manning and Favre couldn’t play pool that night, they had to wait a while before they clashed.

It took almost a decade before Manning and Favre finally met on the soccer field. Their first game as a starting quarterback came in week two of the 2007 regular season, when the Manning Giants faced the Packers at Giants Stadium. The Packers won this game, 35-29.

But four months later, the two quarterbacks met again in a frozen Lambeau Field for the NFC Championship game. Manning led the Giants to a 20-17 overtime victory in Favre’s last game as a Packer. Manning won his first Super Bowl against the undefeated New England Patriots.
