Elite Dangerous free on Epic Games Store, to prepare for next year’s expansion

In 2021, Dangerous elite, Frontier Developments’ space flight simulation, will see its first premium expansion in over five years, and PC gamers can get a head start to prepare for it when the Epic Games Store releases. Elite Dangerous free from next week.

The game, which expanded several times after its launch in 2014, offers Epic Games Store members the game with its 2015 season of Horizons content – which allowed players to take their adventures back to the surface of planets ( without atmosphere) and explore them in wheeled rovers. Horizons has been transformed into a free update of the base Dangerous elite game on all platforms at the end of October.

Elite Dangerous: Odyssey will be the next full-size expansion, and so far is slated for early 2021. Frontier Developments announced it in early June. The developer said Elite Dangerous: Odyssey will add landings on atmospheric planets, as well as combined arms combat involving spaceships, surface vehicles and ground players.

Dangerous elite will be available for free from November 19 to November 26. The world next door for the same duration. The game currently available is The Textorcist, a typing game that launched on PC in early 2019.
