The second night of two weeks of AEW’s New Years Dynamite editions will feature the return of The Elite after a shocking end to Wednesday’s show.
For the first time since Fight For The Fallen in July, AEW World Champion Kenny Omega and Tag Team Young Bucks Champions will come together for a six-party matchup against opponents to be named. Omega retained their title Wednesday against Rey Fenix and was joined by Impact Tag Team champions The Good Brothers in an attack on Jon Moxley after Moxley came to help Fenix.
After several AEW wrestlers tried unsuccessfully to stop the attack, the Bucks came out and spoke to the trio. Griff Garrison and Brian Pillman Jr. grabbed Omega from behind, but Matt Jackson and Gallows got in on them, which led the group to throw the “Too Sweet” gestures into the unit to close the show.
More has been announced for the recorded Smash finale next Wednesday:
- Serena Deeb will defend the NWA Women’s Title against Tay Conti who will be cornered by Anna Jay of the Black Order.
- Dr Britt Baker will be presenting his waiting room segment at Dynamite for the first time with Cody Rhodes as a guest.
- In a change to a previously announced match, Chuck Taylor will face Miro but if Taylor loses he has to be Miro’s “young boy” until Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford were married at the February edition of Dynamite. Beach Break.
- In another change to a behind-the-scenes segment, Marko Stunt will replace Luchasaurus and team up with Jungle Boy against FTR next week.
- The Inner Circle will be revealing their New Years Resolutions.
The matches and segments join the previously announced TNT title match between Darby Allin and Brian Cage, and PAC against Eddie Kingston.
