Elizabeth Berkley opens up about returning to Saved by the Bell after almost 30 years: ‘We wanna go home’
Elizabeth Berkley will reprise her role as Jessie Spano on the rebirth of the beloved teen sitcom Saved By The Bell.
The actress, 48, recently spoke to People about the feeling of ‘coming home’ while working on the reboot with the rest of the original cast.
Berkley told the post: ‘Being on these same sets with these faces that I know and love so well is like coming home.

Berkley also reflected on the show’s impact on his many young fans in the ’80s and’ 90s.
“Saved by the Bell holds a special place in people’s hearts. It is part of their childhood, and it is sacred. We all fiercely protect this heritage.
She also noted that while new characters would be added to the series and the original dynamics could be changed, the development team took great care to “ give the winks and funny nods to the show. true fan ”.
The actress played Jessie in the original series and will return as an updated version of the character, who has since become the guidance counselor at her old high school.

Berkley was also happy that the reboot ended up having more sentimental value than she thought, stating that: “ For a nostalgic show to bring happiness to this world, it’s really meaningful. ”
The rebirth series was first announced in 2019 and will premiere on NBC’s Peacock streaming service.
The show will see many original actors return to their original roles, including Mario Lopez, Ed Alonso and Mark-Paul Gosselaar, with Tiffani Thiessen, Lark Voorhies and Patrick Thomas O’Brien returning as guests.
The reboot is expected to be led by former 30 Rock showrunner and Great News creator Tracey Wigfield.

Principal photography for the series began in January with exteriors filmed around Los Angeles and interiors recorded at Universal Studios Backlot.
Production on the series was halted in March due to the outbreak of COVID-19, and after months of uncertainty, filming resumed in August to complete the three remaining episodes of the reboot.
Early reviews for the series have been generally positive, with many critics applauding the updated themes and the performances of new and old cast members.
