Elsa Musk, CEO of Tesx and SpaceX, made it clear that he thought artificial intelligence was "the greatest risk of humanity", even going as far as saying that It could cause World War III. Musk took his bail to another level on Thursday, noting that "advanced AI" will be used to manipulate social media.

"If advanced AI (beyond basic robots) has not been applied to manipulate social media, it will not be long before," Musk tweeted Thursday morning. He then followed tweeting that it was necessary to further investigate the anonymous robots.

It's unclear what prompted Musk to tweet about anonymous bots, accounts created on social media that are often difficult to trace to a specific person or origin. In Russia, Russia's Internet Research Agency was indicted in 2018 for creating robots to broadcast disruption and disinformation campaigns in the 2016 US presidential election.

Musk himself is often the target of fake social media accounts, including those on this thread. Such an account, found here, has the same avatar as Musk and asks users to visit a website to win a "prize".

Although 48-year-old Musk has opposed the technology in the past, he strives to put humans at the same level as AI, which he said earlier will defeat humanity at "all By 2030 or 2040.

In an interview in November 2018, Musk alluded to the fact that Neuralink, a neurotechnology company he co-founded, wants to "redefine what future humans will be like". Its goal is to help humanity "to achieve a symbiosis with artificial intelligence and achieve a democratization of intelligence such that it is not monopolized by governments and the big enterprises".

In doing so, Musk thinks that it could help even the playing field with digital intelligence, which "will surpass biological intelligence by a substantial margin".
