Tesla CEO Elon Musk added some details about the upcoming Tesla Model S "Plaid" with "7 seats" scheduled for October / November 2020.
Earlier in the day, we announced that Tesla's tests on the new S-model vehicles, including a 3-engine "Plaid" model, were continuing on the Nürburgring circuit, and a witness testified that Tesla had already crushed the time of Porsche Taycan.
Musk commented on this feat. Twitter:
It's a start. We expect these track times to be beaten by the 7-seater Plaid Model S production variant, which will go into production next October / November.
Tesla has announced an S model with a 3-engine "Plaid Powertrain" and a new "chassis prototype". Musk also said Tesla had a new 7-seater S model prototype on the Nürburgring circuit.
However, Musk confirmed that he was talking about bringing back the Tesla "5 + 2" seating configuration to two rear-facing seats, although larger:
No, 5 forward facing seats plus 2 smaller rear facing seats. The new rear seats will accommodate larger passengers than before.

While he speaks of "big passengers", it is not clear if he is talking about adult accommodation.
ELECTrek the publisher Seth Weintraub had the original seat option back-oriented on his first Model S, and they get too small when kids get closer to the age of 10 years:
On the first picture, the children are 2 and 5 years old and on the second, they are 9 and 6 years old.
Musk says Tesla will bring an upgraded version of the rear-facing seats for the Model S by the end of next year, along with the new "Plaid" 3-engine powertrain.
Last week, we presented prototypes of Tesla Model S at Nürburgring with a new fascia, a strange rear spoiler and other modifications.
At this point, it is not clear if all the changes will be made to the production version, but the CEO seems to believe that the production version will actually exceed the modified prototypes currently being tested on the Nürburgring circuit.
