Elon Musk has joined the choir of famous people calling for an end to Britney Spears’ controversial tutelage following the singer’s latest loss in court.
Last week, Spears suffered a heavy blow when a judge rejected his request to impeach his father as a Tory, which would have allowed him to regain control of his own finances. The move shed light on the current situation of Spears’ father, Jamie, and prompted many high profile people to speak out in support of her.
On Monday, Musk became the last to back Britney with a tweet now viral it simply echoed the words many have used on social media to say “Free Britney”.
However, it didn’t take long for many people online to speculate that Musk’s longtime girlfriend Grimes was the one pulling the strings for Tesla’s CEO to lend his voice to the cause.

Shortly after Musk’s tweet, Grimes responded with the words “Thank you,” which many believed implied that a conversation on the subject had taken place in private between the two.
It doesn’t matter if Musk supported Britney on his own or Grimes helped guide him along the way, the duo are just the latest celebrity calling for an end to Spears’ tutelage. Justin Timberlake, Mariah Carey, Halsey, Rose McGowan, Jesse Tyler Furguson and more have all taken to social media to show their support as the “Toxic” hitmaker searches for other ways to earn his freedom.
On Thursday, a request by Spears’ court-appointed lawyer Sam Ingham to replace Jamie Spears with Bessemer Trust was rejected by a judge.

Ingham originally filed the motion to remove Jamie late last year, claiming Spears was “afraid of his father.” The petition was denied and he recently re-filed. The star has also said that she will not perform again until her father is in control of her career.

In her 24-minute address to court last week, the star claimed her father “liked” the control he had over her through “abusive” guardianship. Spears has requested that his statements in a Los Angeles courtroom be shared publicly.
“I shouldn’t be in a guardianship if I can work and provide the money and work for myself and pay other people,” Spears told Judge Brenda Penny. “It does not mean anything.”
She said she was constantly working and surrounded by a whole staff on her payroll, but was not even allowed to control her own fortune.

Jamie Spears has controlled his daughter’s $ 60 million fortune since 2008. Until 2019, lawyer Andrew Wallet served as co-curator until his resignation. Jamie temporarily handed over power to Spear’s caregiver Jodi Montgomery the same year after he had a medical alert.
