The actor staged to play Elvis Presley in Baz Luhrmann's next biographical film was revealed. Austin Butler, who starred in the TV series "The Carrie Diaries" and "Arrow", will play Presley, THR reports. It has also been announced that Tom Hanks would embody Colonel Tom Parker, who was the famous Presley manager, who almost alone led the singer's career. The Warner Bros. feature is currently untitled. Luhrmann wrote the screenplay alongside Craig Pearce.
A series of releases for the 50th anniversary of Elvis is scheduled this year. They collect unpublished music around his home in Las Vegas in 1969 and sessions behind his iconic album. From Elvis to Memphis.
The Pitchfork Playlist feature called "The 200 Best Albums of the 1960s".
