Netflix says “Hello!” to more episodes of Emily in Paris: The streamer has renewed the comedy starring Lily Collins for season 2, TVLine has learned.

The series follows the titular Emily (The last tycoon‘s Collins), a marketing manager from Chicago who is sent to Paris to work with the French luxury boutique that Emily’s company has acquired. During her stay, she bumps into her new colleagues and makes a connection with her handsome neighbor Gabriel (Lucas Bravo). The catch: He has a girlfriend, who is also friends with Emily.

The end of Season 1 found Gabriel preparing to leave the French capital to open his own restaurant in Normandy. Since his girlfriend Cami (Camille Razat) was not set to leave his life in Paris, this meant the couple were officially separated, clearing the way for Emily and Gabriel to act on their feelings. ‘for each other before he left. The day after their date, Emily found out that Gabriel was staying in Paris and buying the restaurant where he worked. The happy moment was then interrupted by a potentially embarrassing text from Cami to Emily: “I just heard Gabriel. He stays in Paris. Can we talk??”

“What happens in the next chapter, I think, can be a real exploration of how the relationship between these three characters is evolving,” creator Darren Star told TVLine. “For me, that’s such a fun thing to explore in season 2 because they’re not Americans. They are French. For me, a big part of the show is looking at everything through a different lens. Season 2 will open up interesting and surprising relationship avenues.
