A 36-year-old Instagram influencer, who was pregnant with her fifth child, died this week, her family confirmed.
Emily Mitchell, from Rhode Island, ran The Hidden Way Instagram account, where she had more than 112,000 followers.
She died “unexpectedly on the morning of December 22, 2020,” according to a GoFundMe account created for her family.
“Our dear Emily and her precious unborn baby passed away unexpectedly on the morning of December 22, 2020. Our hearts are broken and her joyful presence will be sadly missed by many. Em has had a big impact in the lives of so many people, and this loss is incomprehensible to anyone who knew her, ”GoFundMe read. “Our friend was a devoted mother and wife, she had a heart for the Lord and loved her children so much.”
According to GoFundMe, the young mother was having coffee and breakfast when she “suddenly became unresponsive” as her family and medical staff were unable to save her.
Her cause of death is currently unknown. The fundraiser says “Doctors are still working on answers for her family.”
In a Mitchell obituary, she is described as “a devoted wife and incredible mother to her four children” who “possessed a deep faith which was the foundation of everything in her life.”
“Beautiful inside and out, Emily had an infectious smile and a kind, compassionate spirit. Her exuberant personality shone outward in her interactions and relationships with everyone who knew her. Emily was a symbol of strength during the most difficult times for so many, ”the obituary read, adding that the 36-year-old was also“ a talented musician, singer, artist and music teacher ” .
Mitchell, who had children Finn, Isla, Eden and Luna with husband Joseph Mitchell, first announced that she was expecting her fifth child in November when she shared a photo of herself and her husband holding an ultrasound.
“GUYS. NUMBER FIVE. Who guessed the secret? !!! You probably noticed that I was a little MIA… Help me be the reason lol,” she captioned the photo, adding that she was 11 weeks pregnant.
In Mitchell’s most recent photo, shared on December 8, she revealed the pregnancy will be her fifth C-section and celebrates all trips to motherhood.
“My plan was to never have five caesareans. But you can be sure that I am very grateful for them. Even though I cried with my first absence from what the ‘real motherhood experience’ was meant to be, ”she wrote at the time. “How do I feel now?” It doesn’t matter how they get here. It only matters that they get here. And are so loved.
Mitchell’s Family GoFundMe on Friday raised $ 150,410, exceeding its goal of $ 100,000.
