Ahead of Saturday’s UFC 257: Poirier vs McGregor 2 event, Eminem released his new video for “Higher,” a song by the recent rapper. Music to be murdered by – Côté B.
In the “Higher” video, Eminem is cast as a fighter preparing for battle against his own demons, with the UFC world as a backdrop for the action. The video also features cameos from ESPN’s UFC chief Dana White and Michael Eaves in a mock interview ahead of Eminem’s big fight.
The video was created during ESPN’s pre-show for the mixed martial arts event, which was broadcast live on Saturday from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, where the UFC has hosted a number of its PPV shows since that the coronavirus pandemic first hit in March 2020. The main event features Conor McGregor taking on Dustin Poirier in a rematch of their 2014 fight, which McGregor won by TKO in the first round.
“It has always been amazing to be able to work with Eminem on promotional and programming content on various ESPN properties over the years,” ESPN Music Director Kevin Wilson said in a statement. “Being able to work on this video with your team – not only with the excellent UFC coverage from our team, but also showing it exclusively on ABC, is simply invaluable.”
