An Emmy-winning set designer, missing since September and known for her hoarding, has been found dead at her New York City home under a pile of garbage.
66-year-old Evelyn Sakash was discovered Tuesday afternoon in her kitchen by her sister and a crew hired to clean the house in the Borough of Queens, police said.
A missing person report filed with New York City Police said Sakash was last seen in September 2020. There has been no determination of cause of death or suspicion of ‘a criminal act.

Sakash’s TV and movie credits include “Orange Is the New Black,” “Law & Order: Criminal Intent,” “Mermaids” from the 1990s, “Still Alice” from 2014 and “Between the Lines” from 2003, for which she won a Daytime Emmy Award.
Sakash’s sister, Ellen Brown, told the New York Daily News that she doesn’t want her sister to be remembered for the way she was found.
“She’s had a busy life,” Brown said. “She was so extraordinarily talented. He was a brilliant mind.

A GoFundMe account that was created in December to pay for research has now been converted to a funeral fund with a goal of $ 10,000. As of Wednesday night, he had raised over $ 7,000.
