"Avengers: Endgame" is getting closer to the ultimate box office glory.

Disney and Marvel box office leviathan collected an additional $ 2.8 million in global box office this weekend, bringing the world's $ 2.78 billion worth of ticket sales to a staggering $ 2.78 billion. This means that "Avengers: Endgame" is only $ 7.16 million less than the record $ 2.788 billion ever recorded by "Avatar". James Cameron's sci-fi epic remains the most profitable film of all time for almost 10 years.

As it stands, "Avengers: Endgame" generated $ 851 million at the national box office and $ 1.9 billion abroad. Superhero superproduction was particularly strong in China ($ 629 million), the United Kingdom ($ 114 million), Korea ($ 105 million), Brazil ($ 85 million) and Mexico ($ 77 million)

The 22nd participation in the Marvel film universe, which debuted for the first time on April 26, likely boosted ticket sales for Sony's "Spider-Man: Far From Home" movie. The solo adventure, launched by Tom Holland, generated $ 274 million in North America and $ 847 million worldwide. And since the studios have positioned "Spider-Man: Away From Home" as the inevitable sequel to "Avengers: Endgame," audiences may have returned to the theaters to once again attend the epic finale before watching the new Spidey movie.

"Avengers: Endgame" marks the climax of the current phase of Marvel's adventures and stars Robert Downey Jr. in Iron Man, Chris Evans in Captain America, Brie Larson in Captain Marvel, Scarlett Johansson in Black Widow and Paul Rudd in Ant Man.
