While Avengers: End of the game During his three hours of epic filming, we had many unexpected moments. If most of us left in the anticipation of the film, it is the Captain America of Chris Evans who was sent. Wow, this movie made that happen in a big way!
Fortunately, Cape was in good hands. The Russo brothers started their partnership with Marvel with the 2014 program Captain America: Winter Soldier (a fan favorite highly respected), they kept it with Civil war in 2016 before closing the Infinity saga with War of Infinity and End of Game.
The Russo had a long way to go with End of Game The star-studded man, but the movie still managed to wrap the character's character arc in an incredibly satisfying way. Chris Evans has been shown to provide the space necessary to present his most complete and comprehensive performance as a hero to date, demonstrating that it is one of the most more deliberate superheroes never told on the screen.
While his independent trilogy was certainly impressive, End of Game Captain America is higher and the caps (no pun intended) of his story in a way that we will not forget so soon. Here's why:
His "dizzy" optimism pays off
The fall of a character like Captain America (and his brothers from Superman, DC) is his supreme idealism and his belief in the common good. This is a feature of the first editions of the comic publishing houses for one reason: to give hope and escape to readers in these difficult times.
While we certainly enjoy a good deal of escape today, it's harder to believe in a hero like Cape, and Tony Stark's relationship with him throughout the franchise is the perfect example. He always questions his decisions and words of confidence.
In End of Game, Tony hits Steve with that head at the beginning of the movie, cursing his optimism as they have now lost. However, Cape's good intentions of "continuing to continue" shine in the film. It is the rock of the team that believes in the idea of Ant-Man, then recruits Tony and the rest of the team, yes with Black Widow at his side, but without him, everyone (even she) was starting to give up.
Cape starts even giving up a little bit himself, but he never lets himself stop. Where some of the other Cape films have hesitated on the "why" End of Game shows that the character's belief that everything is going well can really be a force, making it the ultimate film for the hero.
He has the ass of America
OK, so if you were looking to analyze Cape loot, that's not it, but it's the complete scene that begins with this now iconic line. We do not like anything anymore, we see a smart development of the character, and End of Game juggle with many of the basic Avengers.
For Cape Town though, the parallel between who he was and who he became between 2012 and Avengers and his latest style is shown much more literally. When he returns to the Battle of New York to recover the Tesseract, he runs into himself and straightened him in the best possible way. When young Cape says "I can do it all day," the older man laughs hilariously.
Not to mention that the moment in the elevator with some of these dual Hydra agents serves as a fun reminder to the iconic fight scene of lifts from Winter Soldier. When the hero whispers "Hi, Hydra" to deceive them instead of using his energy to fight them all, it shows that Cape is capable of doing silly things and giving a really fun character at the end of the day.
While Chris Evans has a lot of seriousness to pull during the franchise, End of Game really brings the charm of the hero. The fact that all these references hold a huge punch in just a few minutes shows that the character has never been the target of the MCU, but is a true MVP.
He assembles the whole team … and the Mjolnir
Then comes the moment when Captain America has to face Thanos again, while the previous version of Mad Titan discovered the location of the challenge and seeks to become "inevitable". It was already an exciting confrontation between Thanos, Cape, Iron Man and Thor, but then Cape said these words: "Avengers Assemble."
It's a scene that looks like the end of Cape Town as it stands alone in front of Thanos, but Rogers is not "I can do it alone". He knows that a battle is best won together and that when all uncommitted Avengers enter the battle, it is a glorious moment unparalleled.
In a geekfest full of incredible moments such as filming "girl power", one of the Cape's certainly steals the show too. Just before all unmarked heroes come forward, he picks up Thor's hammer, Mjolnir. The entire theater absolutely passes a heartbeat when that happens, and when he handles it and turns off the weapon with Thor, his big screen GOLD.
There was a little foreshadowing of that in Age of Ultron when he moves a little Mjolnir but End of Game welcomes that Captain America is pretty much the most powerful of the original Avengers, while it becomes worthy of a god 's weapon. The scene pays off for the character in the best way possible because he has always tried to do what was right and to be a "worthy" hero … now, he does it absolutely.
He makes this date
The story of Captain America begins on a moving note when he has to force a plane into the 40s and leave behind Peggy Carter before their burgeoning romance can really begin to flourish. This is the ultimate sacrifice for the hero with whom he struggles throughout his journey with MCU. He constantly returns to the life he has left and has treated it in all his films.
Although we speculated, Peggy could play a role in End of Game, his involvement in the MCU ends up giving the audience a happy ending that gives all these emotional moments meaning and depth. After saving the world and helping to bring the Avengers together, Cape goes back in time and leads the life he has always dreamed of.
Then he remembers another event, the exact moment when Hulk, Bucky and Falcon sent him back in time to tell them that it was working. He brought back the Infinity Stones to their place and made a permanent journey behind the scenes to retreat.
Cape then has one last thing to do: pass on the legacy of his shield to someone: Bucky or Sam Wilson. Although his love for Bucky throughout the franchise has influenced him, Falcon is the obvious successor and the perfect way to end his story, even though Anthony Mackie never assumes the skin of Captain America).
Without Avengers: End of the gameThe story of Captain America just would not have as much emotional and cinematic impact as this movie did. This is not only the perfect send for the character, but also his best film to date.
