Google plans to ditch one of the best benefits of Google Photos. As of June 1, 2021, any new “high quality” photos or videos (items that Google has compressed to take up less space) that you upload to the service will count towards a 15 GB shared limit that will include your documents. , slides and worksheets. Once you get past this cap, you’ll need to pay for Google One storage.

To reduce the shock, “high quality” photos and videos that you upload before June 1 will not count towards the cap, giving you time to decide whether you want to continue using the service.
