Epic Games has confirmed that it is considering the possibility of adding a respawn feature to Fortnite, similar to the Apex Legends spawn mechanism.
Respawn Entertainment has launched a new Royal Battle Game, Apex Legends, on the market earlier this month on Feb. 4, and Epic Games may well take a page from the industry's latest Battle Royale shooter.
Apex Legends offers an option for his teammates to revive the "banner" of an eliminated partner and bring them back to the game by putting their banner on a re-spotting beacon.
Reinstated players will then be able to return to the game, but will need to find nearby armor, weapons and ammo.
The reappearance feature of Apex is a novelty in the Battle of Royal, the other games have no opportunity to bring back teammates eliminated.
A Reddit fan asked if Epic would add a respawn mechanism to Fortnite at the developer's AMA Reddit on Feb. 23, and an Epic Games producer responded.
RZELive, a producer at Epic Games, has confirmed that his team has "been considering this mechanism for a while" and that other updates will be provided during the season 8 of Fortnite.
Season 8 should begin in early March, which will bring tons of updates that will change the current state of Fortnite.
Epic Games may not be ready to launch a respawn feature in Fortnite for the start of the new season, but it is possible that the new reappearance mechanism could be tested in an LTM.
Would you like a reappearance mechanic to be added to Fortnite?
