IGN can confirm the accuracy of a recent video on Facebook, which seems to show what might look like any of the GameStop stores redesigned as part of the company's GameStop reset plan. A GameStop Store in Pryor, Oklahoma, posted a video tour of what looks like a new presentation for the store. A source familiar with the operation of GameStop, who requested anonymity, confirmed that the store corresponds to the presentation of the master plan for the changes to the conference presented at the annual GameStop conference.

IGN sources say there is a test store in Oklahoma, the same state of origin of this video. A second source familiar with future plans for restarting GameStop said that all stores would not look like the one in the video. Some stores have been redesigned to focus more on esport, retro games (as shown here) or a more traditional design similar to existing stores. . Other features, such as the wall shelf, are more universal features that the company will implement in all stores.

The new store seems to give up the bright, black and white aesthetics of today's GameStop locations. Instead, the store now sports a more muted gray aesthetic with faux wood panels. The store is also sleeker and simpler, with cleaner rows of games, and a small table for clothing and video game characters. There is also a wall shelf in the store that customers can order, as well as a sofa and HD TV in the center of the store.

In addition, at the back of the store is a new space filled with CRT TVs and tables, apparently used for board games. This would be consistent with GameStop's previously stated goals of turning stores into event spaces where they could host live tournaments and events.

In August, GameStop confirmed to IGN that it had laid off more than 120 employees, including editorial members of Game Informer, the print publication of GameStop. At a call for results, GameStop recently confirmed that it could close up to 200 "underperforming" stores in the world. GameStop has announced these layoffs as part of GameStop Reboot, which plans to redefine the stores so that they focus on live events, retro games and online sports.

This news follows a 14.3% drop in 12-month sales and a net loss of more than $ 400 million in the second quarter. GameStop CFO Jim Bell also predicted this loss trend would continue in the coming quarters until the next generation of consoles roll out.

IGN has requested a statement from GameStop but has not received a response at the press time. IGN also contacted the Oklahoma store, but was told that he could not comment on the new store design.
