No.2 Georgia, coming off their second win over a top 10 opponent of the season, a 37-0 win over Arkansas, are now preparing for another road conference game, this time against Auburn , number 19. ESPN defines its REIT as a “measure of team strength that is said to be the best predictor of a team’s performance for the remainder of the season. The FPI represents the number of points above or below the average of a year. The projected results are based on 10,000 simulations from the rest of the season using the FPI, results to date and remaining schedule. Odds and projections are updated daily. “This week, ESPN updated day REITs updates to the Dawgs’ projected chances of winning Saturday against Auburn.

Georgia have an 84.5% chance of beating Auburn, down from 70.6 two weeks ago. On September 13, Georgia had a 67.1% chance. On September 6, it was 60.6%. On August 24 it was 67.7% and it started at 63.2%.

In 2018, the REIT favored Georgia in every game before the season and placed No.3 overall, with the Dawgs going 11-1 in the regular season, losing to LSU on the road, Alabama in the championship. SEC, and Texas in the Allstate Sugar Bowl. In 2019, the REIT again favored Georgia in every game before the season and, following a road overtime loss to South Carolina, that would give them a more than 50% chance of losing to Auburn and LSU. The Dawgs would divide those games against the Tigers, finishing 12-2 with a New Years Six Bowl victory over Baylor at the Sugar Bowl. In 2020, the REIT had Georgia 9-1, losing to Alabama. The Dawgs would eventually go 7-2 in the regular season, falling to the Crimson Tide as well as Florida, before defeating Cincinnati in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl.

EThe Tigers and Bulldogs are scheduled to kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET on October 9 and the game will air on CBS. Georgia leads 60-56-8 in the series, having won the last four games and 13 of the last 16 against the Tigers.

“They did a great job of going on the road, which is very difficult to do in our conference, and go to Baton Rouge and have a win,” Kirby Smart said of Auburn on Sunday. “So I decided to move on with these guys, I think Coach (Bryan) Harsin does a really good job. He’s got a really good staff. These kids joined their staff and made a Great job – they have one loss of a Top 10 team on the road. And other than that they played really good football. It was a tough and physical game, and it was a tough environment to live in. We know our guys are gearing up for a really tough environment – where playing Auburn is probably one of the toughest places to play in the SEC – their fan base does a terrific job with those elements. I think I’m a very talented Auburn football team. “
