Today, Google released Android 10, aimed at Pixel owners, the first version of the OS without the name inspired by the dessert. Without wasting time, some companies have started to do the same with their own versions of Android 10, although to a certain extent.
Essential is one of the companies that jumped aboard the latest versionbecause it usually tends to follow very quickly after Google. There is actually only one phone that the company has to support, and it runs almost Android, so it's not surprising to see the updates released quickly. However, the update is only available for some open market customers. So you may not see it right away, especially if you have a variant of the phone operator.
Xiaomi is another company that has launched into the fray and has made the update available to its Redmi K20 Pro in China and India (via XDA-Developers). Notably, the Redmi K20 Pro actually uses Xiaomi's custom MIUI skin, which is very different from the stock version of Android. It is therefore surprising to see the company act so quickly. Hopefully the international variant, known as the Mi 9T Pro, will also receive the update quickly.
Finally, OnePlus also releases Android 10 on OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro, but not in a stable version. This version comes in the form of the beta 1 of Oxygen OS Open, which differs from the previews of the developers we received. This version can be downloaded and installed manually by anyone, and those who run the developer previews will be updated over the air. Although the publication should be quite advanced so far, it is still a beta version. So you can wait for a stable version.
Now that the official version is behind us, it's more than a matter of time. More and more companies will market their Android 10 variants on more of their phones. For Nokia users, a calendar is already available for the moment when you can expect the update on your device.
