Essential Phone, Redmi K20 Pro on Android 10 from day one

Android 10 has just been discontinued today for Google Pixel devices, but the update will probably still be long before most devices. The essential phone is the habit, and the Xiaomi Redmi K20 Pro with the updates of the day 1 of Android 10, however, are abandoned.

Nomadic shell for Pixel 3

It is therefore not surprising that Essential Phone uses Android 10 from day one. Even if there is no second generation (hopefully for now), the device has always recovered security patches, beta versions and major updates a few days, or even hours, of the Pixel range of Google. Really, this struggling start-up is showing the rest of the industry how this is going.

As usual, the Essential Update does not differ much from that proposed by Google. Users can expect gestural navigation, a dark system-wide mode, and more a lot more when the update hits their devices.

The Android 10 update is being rolled out for "Open Market" customers, but should be available to all Essential Phone users in the coming days. The update is about 1 GB in size.

In a somewhat surprising way, most of the phone is not the only upgrade day. The Xiaomi Redmi K20 Pro also gets an Android 10 update today. As by XDA's Mishal Rahman on Twitter, this update is only available for the moment in China. Therefore, those who bought the phone in areas such as India will not be able to get it at the moment. Notably, the K20 Pro was also eligible for an Android Q (10) beta program, which suggests Xiaomi's Mi Mix 3 5G and Mi 9 smartphones will not be compatible. as well far behind with their updates.

Android 10 for the Redmi K20 Pro can be loaded laterally. Downloads are available now.
