Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade has ended.
Behavior Interactive’s competitive third-person multiplayer shooter hit the Warp last night, Friday, September 10. It is no longer playable.
Eternal Crusade launched in September 2016 on PC, with a planned console release released by Bandai Namco that did not materialize. It had four playable factions: Space Marines, Chaos, Orks, and Eldar.
Richie Shoemaker wrote Eurogamer’s review of Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade, calling it “an ambitious and promising 40K multiplayer shooter that left Early Access a bit prematurely.”
Five years later, the Eternal Crusade is over. Streamer ZoranTheBear captured the moment the servers went live on Twitch (skip to the end to see the final moments):
“We are proud of all the hard work that has gone into Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade, and the incredible community that has come together with the game,” Behavior Interactive said in a Steam post.
“Thank you for everything, we appreciate all your support over the years.”
