A new promo for Marvel’s Eternals shows the superpowers of the Cosmic Family as they battle evil Deviants to protect humanity.

Marvel Studios has shared a new promo for Eternals, which hits theaters a month from today. Along with a mix of footage from the full Marvel movie trailer, we see plenty of new scenes of the Eternals using their powers, fighting Deviants, and interacting with humans. Particularly prominent is Angelina Jolie’s Thena, who uses her cosmic weapons against a number of enemies and an unlucky orange.
The promo also shows Phastos using his construction abilities in combat, while Sersi uses his material manipulation powers defensively. We also get a glimpse of Kingo coming back into the fold with a film crew in tow, proving the Bollywood star isn’t ready to leave the spotlight behind when he joins his family to fight the evil Deviants.
This weekend saw the release of another Eternals promo video full of new scenes. Marvel is in full marketing mode for the epic film, which will screen at the Rome International Film Festival later this month before releasing worldwide in November. Although it features a group of relatively unknown heroes, Marvel is banking on the influence of the MCU and the current cheers of Oscar-winning director Chloe Zhao.
The film could still prove to be a challenge in bringing a different tone and set of characters to the big screen. Zhao also said that while the film will expand the MCU, it will also be a relatively standalone film.
“I think we are a full movie,” Zhao said last month. “But I think we’re going to have a really big effect on the future of the MCU with what’s going on in this movie. Which, you know, as a fan, is really satisfying to me! I’m crazy.”
But given the big names involved in the cast and the diverse, global nature of the story, Eternals could also turn out to be a surprise hit. Zhao will bring not only his independent sensibility to the MCU, but his love of blockbusters as well. Zhao has long been a fan of the Marvel movies, and her goal is to achieve a Star wars movie. This mix of genres and tones could launch Eternals and Marvel Studios to new heights.
Eternals arrives Nov. 5 in theaters.
