Ethan Hawke reportedly joined Disney + / Marvel series Moon knight opposite Oscar Isaac.
Isaac plays the main character Moon Knight, aka Marc Spector, a mercenary with many alter egos – taxi driver Jake Lockley and millionaire playboy Steven Grant – in order to better fight the criminal underworld. But later it was established as a channel for the Egyptian moon god Khonshu. Most recently, the character was a consultant who dresses all in white and goes by the name of Mr. Knight.
It’s unclear who Hawke will play. The main villain of Moon knight was largely Bushman, a mercenary who turned on Mr. Knight over Egyptian gold. Hawke recently performed and premiered Showtime / Blumhouse’s The good lord bird.
Deadline first reported that Shock helmer Mohamed Diab will lead Moon knight with Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead. Production starts in March in Budapest.
