Marcus Samuelsson the New York chef who led Aquavit in Minneapolis for five years, will host a new series of six documentary-style documentaries during his trip to the United States . the diversity of immigrants' traditions and cuisines in a program called "No Pbadport Required" on Tuesdays at 8 pm on TPT2 (and at other times). For the first episode, Samuelsson starts in Detroit while he meets immigrants from the Middle East. Later, weekly episodes connect him to the Vietnamese community of New Orleans, the Mexicans of Chicago, Indo-Guyanese immigrants from Queens to New York, to the Haitian people of Miami and to Ethiopian families in Washington, DC

And there's more: Daniel Klein and Mirra Fine, the directors of Minneapolis Placettes, have turned their attention to immigrants and released a film about a family of Somali refugees in Minnesota, as part of A series they call "The Immigrant Family Dinner Project."
