Lee Kasumba 's State of Mind podcast in Africa presents a culmination of his recent trip to Ethiopia for the Africa Connected series sponsored by the Standard Bank Group. In this last episode, Lee speaks to people who represent the African continent in a positive way.
The audio came from her recent visit to the International Leadership Academy of Ethiopia – also called the Lebawe Academy – which she described as a true revelation!
In the morning, I went to the academy, I never thought I would go out feeling totally different … I would never have imagined that I was literally going to walk in a place that I felt was a microcosm for what we can be as a society, and as a people in Africa and in the world.

The Lebawe Academy was really one of those places that upset me. I like the fact that they are a hybrid between modern education and Ethiopian education.

Kasumba says that the focus is on the humanity of every student out there, and to find out what their purpose is. The students are bright and positive and have a dream for both their country and for Africa.
